Forced terrible compression on mobile video uploads

Compression isn't the main issue, but rather the type of compression that gets used. Seemingly at random it feels, a video can get absolutely slaughtered and butchers by whatever compression algorithm the mobile app uses; this issue didn't always exist and happened around a year+ ago. The worst part is it seems the file sizes barely decreases; there are far more effective ways to reduce filesize with barely any video quality being sacrificed. Some videos become unwatchable messes, which really doesn't lend well to preserving quality in the long run. No setting or method can seemingly alleviate this horrid compression, so please: if you won't remove it, please update it and improve it so it won't make videos that are insultingly bad quality.
