New desktop design feedback
The new Discord desktop layout, as mentioned in the article https://support.discord.com/hc/en-us/articles/207260127-How-can-I-change-Discord-s-appearance-theme is one of the worst redesigns I have ever seen. On any one of the UI density settings, the server list are entirely too small. Even with changing the UI scaling, they are too small in comparison to the server I am currently viewing.
The square server icons are something that was not necessary to change while also being something you could have added as a toggle setting. In fact I really enjoyed the feature in which the server you were selecting would have a squared icon. The home button blends in too much with the servers and again, is far too small now. Also why are server folders now showing squared icons with rounded outside edges. Find me a single person who says that looks better to the previous 4 circles in a square.
The profile box in the bottom left could use some work, as it is too segmented from the rest of the UI now. It feels out of place where as before the profile blended seamlessly with the text chat box.
The text chat box wasn't changed much, however the lines placed between the text chat, the servers list, and many other areas of information make everything feel far too disconnected.
The server name at the top of the window is something that was just unnecessary and the way it was implemented, it is far too large, and is one of the only pieces of information you SHOULD have separated from the rest with a line.
Please just add a “legacy GUI” setting, please.
