Discord Hates Its Users

There is no other explanation for the awful, absolutely terrible new UI that's rolling out. There is no added value and a lot is lost. It's obvious that feedback doesn't matter but if I don't post this I won't be able to let it go. Useless, terrible, counterproductive, anti-user design. Shame on you. You really should feel bad for releasing such a bad design. Revert, immediately, and expand your focus testing and input sources if you think there's actually something wrong with the current design. If you just think it needs a facelift, find another line of work or else settle into the knowledge that your entire career is going to be focused around forcing unwanted changes on people that make them unhappy. Is that really why you got into this work?

Stop rolling out the terrible new UI, please.
