Installation choice
I don't know for you, but my default hard drive is very short on space. So many softwares won't let us chose in which hard drive we could install their app, but the Discord team is better than that.
Thank you.

I know this is a dead topic, but I'm writing this here regardless: unlike any other application ever, Discord doesn't install for the system; rather, it installs into the user's home folder. For example, on Windows 10, you can find the actual installation folder - with the main executable, the updater and everything - under /Users/(username)/Appdata/Local/Discord.
This is a really stupid thing. It means that every user that uses Discord has a whole installation in their home, and that's why you can't choose where the installation is done - and why it will never be a thing.
If you want to "change" the installation folder, you have to use symbolic links (by following this guide, or any similar one):
- (If Discord is not already installed) create a symbolic link to whatever directory you want to use, then run the installer;
- (If Discord is already installed) move the Discord directory to another location of your choosing, then create a symbolic link to it.

the best solution I found is discord portable https://github.com/portapps/discord-portable/releases

Open windows search and type %appdata% this will open the appdata folder, then choose local, there you will find the discord folder. Cut and paste on other hard drive. Delete all instances of discord on pc.
If %appdata% open appdata/roaming then you have to go one folder back, there you will find local.

The Immortal
Thanks for that.
I have similar issue to others in that my C drive is 120 GB and nearly full but I have a 1TB D drive.
I was able to move Discord however the game we play had to be moved as well as it is 7GB (main source of issue). Discord wouldn't open the game and won't allow users to change/remove default C:\Users\.... (Library-Settings). It does allow users to add another location. So I had to re-download game onto our D:\ location as shown below
I was concerned downloading the game again would overwrite my son's profile, coins, and avatars so I changed the original game folder name briefly. But Discord must have all of that in the Cloud and it all downloaded ok. Nice to found a way to work around Discord ignoring requests from their users ey?
