Upload Failed - Click Here to retry the upload (Will not let me upload)
RespondidaSo I am using the browser version of Discord and I like sending memes. However some images will just not upload, and I just get "Upload Failed". Clicking retry doesn't do anything, even if you do it like 15 times. So instead of copying/pasting I saved the image and sent it and it still does the same thing. (The image in question is 1,082 KB) So I came to the point where I took a screenshot of the image and then it sent.
This doesn't only happen with this one image, it happens randomly. It can be any picture and it just WONT SEND. I've tried restarting discord, signing out and signing in, it's just ridiculous. Everyone else i know who has discord is having the same problem. I notice sometimes it works on other servers but for some servers it doesn't. I have no restrictions against sending images, attaching files, or embed links on my server.
I wanted to point out that I can see the image progress bar fill up and then it says Upload Failed. I don't understand why this also happens when I simply try to copy/paste an image.
There is nothing specific, inappropriate, or wrong about these images, they are just normal memes. Why would I even get this message anyways? Why did the upload fail? How? The only legit reason is if the file is too big BUT ITS NOT.
The Problem is NOT because of the file size. I do not have any pictures over 8 MB, they are all 1.2 MB and below. Its pretty annoying about the fact that it just wont simply let you upload some pictures.

Same here now. I've tried posting images onto servers, but i can't. I even tried dming people with images, but that doesn't work either. I even tried changing my profile picture and that doesn't work either. I can't tell if my internet is going bonkers or if there's some maintenance issues right now with discord, either way, please fix this issue discord.

It is a connection problem with the internet provider, I tried VPN and it worked!

ight so i also had an image that just refuses to send only on discord, i tried sending it to an nsfw channel, and it worked, confirming my suspicions that images go through some authorization process before being sent(on regular channels, not nsfw channels)

I have the same problem... im from colombia so recently i started using the server from brazil recently, but then the problem appeared.
"Upload failed" almost each time i tried to upload some image, regardles of size (mb).
So i went back to "us east" servr and the problem completly dissapeared.
Guess some servers can be buggy?2 -
This is a common problem, there are a few different reasons for this. Most common is probably the fact that Discord servers are experiencing issues. But please double check that the person you are sending a file to, has DM's on, and make sure that you are not blocked by the user because Clyde will not give the message error to file messages.

It only happens on certain images
The rest work fine.

Setting safety to yellow actually worked for me...nice.

I feel like it might be a authorization process as well. I was trying to upload a meme using that "Hard to swallow pills" template and couldn't upload it anywhere on the server I was on, I could DM it to friends just fine though
Meme in question, if any staff/developers etc behind Discord can provide some insight :)

same problem here. Unable to upload a 6MB mp4. Not on desktop, or mobile. Other files work fine. I even tried transcoding the video smaller. Still didn't work.

No. If you were blocked then you couldn't send ANY file.

alright found the issue, the friend i was sending an image to had the safe DM setting in privacy and safety set to green, they need to change it to either yellow or red

I tried sending it in a dm then got a thought, what if i try a server. It seems to work in a server. But the thing is i got my webm video from a dm so. I think it might just be your connection to the dm your trying to reach. only suggestion is wait for a better connection or send it in a different dm.

I think I'm having the exact issue. I want to send this meme version of the "Uh Oh Stinky" image. Somehow I couldn't send it. Apparently it said it was too explicit and I looked at the meme for hours to see what's wrong with it. But I couldn't find the issues. The monkey doesn't have tiddes showing. It's only showing it's fur and skin

Use the gyazo app, it sends images and videos as links and viewers can see the image without opening the link, it's much more quicker and easier to use, lemme know if it helps
