I have the same problem. This is somehow related to the resolution, I've noticed that if you make the discord window smaller, it'll work better (at least for me it did).

Also to gather more information, what's your monitor resolution?

Same thing is happening to my discord. Nothing else changed on my computer and it was working fine yesterday. Today's update broke it.

Still completely busted. Friend's list is all but totally impossible to navigate due to lag, and having a single gif loaded in a chat causes it to run so slowly that typing is a chore. Seems to also happen while any images are in the process of being loaded, too.

The fact an update like that shipped is hilarious, followed by 5 updates which did nothing to solve a single issue.

Same here. Restarted computer, uninstalled and reinstalled discord, no luck, it's the update.

I downloaded the public test build which is working better, if you need an immediate solution

I'm having the same problem. There's like a full second lag with each letter when typing, and scrolling and loading images is like molasses.

It's already on a SATA SSD, so optimization doesn't apply -- and in any case, there is no disk activity during slowdown, and none of the other applications using my SSD experience any problems.

    TL;DR: your suggestion won't help.

Chikapi is right about the resolution being tied to the severity of the issue. In 1080p it's practically unusable, though people are reporting that in 4k it just doesn't respond at all.

It does need some bugs fixed, but I have a suggestion. If you are using Windows, any edition, and have Discord on an SATA HDD, then optimize the drive. It is when RuntimeBroker.exe does not know how to command.
