notification sounds coming through speakers only after update?

So, for as I have been using discord these have been my settings, (headset - everything for discord come through it, voice, and notification sounds), and (speakers - everything else) My sound settings are (headset - default communication device) (speakers - default device). None of that has changed. But now after a few updates ago (maybe around december). All that setting the output device as my headset on discord does is make voice come through my headset. All my notification sounds are now blasting through my speakers. This is beyond annoying when im doing things like recording gameplay and whatnot. Does anyone else have this issue? im on windows 10 btw. But again, have been on windows 10 for a while now without this issue.
