Claim with Existing Account
RespondidaJoining a new discord channel is much more frustrating than it should be.
This happens every single time I join a new discord:
1- I follow an invite link
2- it opens a new discord tab (I already have one open and am logged in)
3- discord asks me my username and I type in the one I always use
4- discord says I should "claim this account"
5- I enter my email and password and it tells me "Email is already registered"
6- I go back and follow the link again but the new account is still logged in
7- I ragequit and don't join the new discord channel
Why doesn't it realize I'm already logged into discord on this browser and use that account?
Why doesn't it give me an option to combine the accounts instead of saying "Email is already registered"?
I realize I can hit Delete Account and follow the link again, but where the button is placed it looks like I might be deleting the account associated with my email address (my REAL account) so it is a scary button to press.

I had a similar problem except that when I follow a link and click to open the link in the app it also opens a tab with a new account.
I think it was a problem in the browser rather than in discord. Or at least the solution was there. I found my saved passwords in the browser settings and deleted the one associated with discord and then logged in again and it seems fixed now.
I have to say though that the solution should be much more obvious from within the app. I know there are lots of people having this problem with multiple accounts being created. There should be a simple solution.
I imagine a button that sends an invite to your main account for each of the servers you have in the second account and then deletes the second account. This would effectively merge the accounts.1
