pause/freeze a channel for an hour

the background of this suggestion is that today there were two people in my channel who were getting a little personal with each other, and I, the admin, had to leave to do groceries. I wanted to just slam a button to pause the channel for an hour so they'd have to stop, and hopefully cool down.

Various hacky workarounds have been suggested to me, but they involve bots, juggling roles and/or having to remember to manually unset what you did later to restore the channel.

so this is a suggestion for an official way to pause/freeze a channel with a time limit.
