Can't hear audio from other programs while using Bluetooth earbuds in discord channel voice call

hey!! so I just got a pair of wireless earbuds (tranya B530) and they work great for music when connected to my laptop, but as soon as I join a voice call in a channel, I suddenly can't hear anything from other apps like spotify or google chrome. I've toggled with the settings on my laptop as well as the discord desktop app but haven't found anything that works. has anyone had a similar problem/found a solution? it's really disappointing to not be able to listen to music while still being in a call like I used to be able to with my wired buds. I assumed it has something to do with the earbuds only connecting to discord rather than all the sound from my laptop in general, but that wouldn't make sense as i'm still able to hear system sounds, just not other applications. let me know if anyone has a solution! thank you :))
