New Message Option: "Post"

A "Post" is a special message that has its own border and a smaller section underneath it for users to reply directly to the message. (Commonly used on Google+, Facebook and Twitter.)

I've noticed that sometimes I want my friends to reply to a particular message, like "hey boys we're doing this tonight," then the comments move the messages out of the way and my other friends might not see the message as easily. The same goes for some of my friends who post art in certain text channels and the comments often move the pictures out of the way.

A few benefits from this:

• Less cluttered chat channels. (Each post would have its own focused dialogue, but still have its own place in the channel.)

• More focused dialogue around certain topics. (More direct feedback.)

• More emphasis on pictures. (Again, more direct feedback.)

• Can bundle many photos together. (Instead of having all of the pictures spread throughout the channel.)

Everyone should know what these are and I'm sure that they'd be super helpful!
Here are a few additional suggestions that I'd like to offer for posts.

1. If there is a post with a large amount of text, there will be a "see more" option.

2. Anchor Mode: Similar to Pins; (an option shows up per channel that has all of the posts, in order. It would also have a mod section for anything that may need to be approved as well as a quick link to the settings of "posts")

3. More Settings:

• Slow Mode; Posts (Slow mode that is more critical than the message version of slow mode.)

• Post Allowance? (Allows users to post in the channel.)

• Allow Post Anchor in Channel? (New overlay for Discord. Not all might want "posts.")

• Post Color (Has own settings based on role color/channel color/custom color) ((Also no color, which would just have a similar gray to Discord.))

• Role Exclusivity (Maybe only certain users should be allowed to use posts per server!)

• Post Pending Approval (Maybe Servers prefer to look at posts before they allow them in the channel/server. Perhaps each account has a limit of posts that they can have pending)

• Cancel Post (If a post hasn't been approved, the user can cancel the post and can post again after a set amount of time.)

• Post bans, for servers that have troublesome users, but don't want to remove them from the server.

• Slow mode for comments in posts.

• Some channels only have posts. (Reduces clutter between normal messages and posts.)

       3. Post Setup: Each user that submits a post should have a small template pop up. Presumably from a button beside the "+" icon.

• An option for a title in larger font.

• An option for a normal message above the photo.

• An optional area for a photo or a collection of photos.

• An option for a caption.

• An option for mentioned users.

• An optional area for comments below it.

• An option for spoilers/NSWF.

• An option for who can reply to the post, with discretion to the mods.

If any of these options aren't used, the area on the post that they would've taken up is removed and the post's size is condensed.

Possible Nitro Options!

• Nitro users can change their post's reply cap!
• Nitro users can post more than two photos at once!
• Nitro users can make longer character counted posts.
• Nitro users can upload higher quality pictures.
• Nitro users can re-arrange how the pictures are sized in comparison to one another for the post.
• Nitro users can enlarge emojis and put them in the title.
• Nitro users can use pictures as backdrops for their posts?
