Feature request: Ping area on someone's screen-share stream
Hello! I have a few friends who do a lot of gaming and also use discord, but are otherwise not so tech savvy. I do a lot of "tech support" for them, and it is very frustrating describing what to click on.
"to the left, more, more, more, TOO FAR, go back, no, back to the right, left again, no not that button"
It gets frustrating. I understand I could just use remote desktop, (either built in, or 3rd party such as Anydesk), but these are people who are skeptical of installing a program that they've never heard of that lets someone control their computer.
There are two solutions to this that discord could try: one is to implement a remote desktop function through discord, but that could be quite an undertaking. The second solution is to add the ability to click somewhere on the screen share or stream, and give the screen sharer visual feedback showing where I clicked. Drawing directly on their application might not be possible, but drawing on the stream feed inside discord seems very plausible.
The functionality I'm describing is very similar to this twitch extension, called "smart click maps":

YES, that feature is exactly what I'm looking for ! It would be great to have this. Thank you for the tip "Twitch has this". I think I'm going to stream on Twitch then.
Because this : "to the left, more, more, more, TOO FAR, go back, no, back to the right, left again, no not that button", way too relatable xD
I hope they add this soon.1 -
We are all working remotely due to the pandemic. We use Discord as our virtual office. This function would help us a LOT!
