Getting mobile notifications while active on desktop

I seem to have the opposite issue to many people here, but sometimes when I'm having a conversation, my phone gets a notification of every new incoming message. That notification then immediately gets removed because I've read the message on desktop.

This is very annoying and distracting, and I know it must be a bug because it only happens when I'm active on one of my devices and not the other.
