Basically - users should have the option to choose who they share their profile pictures with. 

The three basic choices 

Everyone - Everyone can view your profile picture

Friends - Only Friends can view your profile picture

Selective People - Only people you have selected can view your profile picture

No one - Nobody can view your profile picture 

 

And for those who do not have permission to see the person’s profile picture, they will simply see the default Discord profile picture that is shown on new accounts (until the person changes it). 

Also optional but allowing people in certain servers to see your profile picture can also be an option, however if you’ve selected “No one” as an option you can’t do this.

    It I think if they did add this it would need to be where you can have a profile picture for just friends to see and then another one for everyone else to see etc. also it’s kinda similar to the nitro feature where you can have different pfp for each server.

    A better alternative to this proposition would be having a different profile picture for different servers, of which the Discord developer team may be working on.

    i think this is a good idea, but maybe not just pfp's, maybe profiles in general. for example your connections would be hidden, and about me, and your status
