I am strongly urging you all to NOT engage with crypto and NFTs. They are absolutely devastating to the environment and, in a time as precarious as this, a massive corporation like yourself engaging with this will cause and inspire further damage to our world. Here are some resources.

    Agreed. I'm absolutely disgusted. If they go through with this I'll begin the annoying process of moving to another platform.

    I'm getting on the forums just to echo this exact thought. NFTs are detrimental to the art community as a whole, not to mention the environment. I can't stress how much I'm against support, or worse, implementation.

    I strongly second this. I was about to contract a Nitro subscription because I've been using Discord for years, but I changed my mind at the last minte, when I learned about the project of adding NFTs to this plateform.

    A lot have been sayed about NFTs. I would like to add this post to the OG links : this article, originally in Japanese, explore why NFTs (originally targetted to artists) are actually hurtful to artist, and expose them to legal threats because of the inherent Ponzi scheme and speculation processes induced by this unregulated tool > https://note.com/sawamuradacun/n/n35423f010ca5

    If you do want to support NFT, I advise that Discord create comprehensive guides to address to legal authorities, so they can actually regulate them and make them safe. Do not implement support to NFTs as long as they are
    a. Hurtful to the environment
    b. Unregulated and hence hurtful to artists

    This is too much of a risk for Discord to gamble on such uncertain thing.

    Yeah they left out Solana and only chose ethereum. Very rude of them. Some of us only want Solana and Cardano so it's not harmful to the world.
