Feature idea: Voice chat with channels
I frequently run into a problem in which I'd like to be in the same voice chat as someone who streams but I myself am playing a game on the side and want to communicate with friends without bothering the streamer or anyone else in the voice chat watching. I understand that muting and using the in game voice chat would be a solution, but there are games in which there is no in game voice chat, e.g. AoE IV.
I'm wondering if there could be a feature in which there are separate channels in a voice chat, and you could decide if you wanted to be in that channel or listen to other channels. For example, friend A is streaming on channel 1, whilst friend B, C, D are playing AoE 4 in channel 2 on the side, and they are able to hear what people are saying in channel 1 while not interrupting the people in channel 1 with their chatter about AoE 4. And if friend E and F decide to join and watch friend A, they wouldnt hear the stuff being said in channel 2 unless they choose to.
This could also be a streaming thing in which users dont have to join the same voice chat to watch a stream. It would probably be a simpler solution to code.
