It should just be a long press. There's no reason to leave the behavior as-is where you can accidentally trigger an unintended copy when scrolling normally. This is a legitimate feature with a flaw...

Unfortunately discord doesn't clearly communicate that you can't modify users with the same role as you. It would be great to see this added as a server option so we have the choice!

I understand how this might lead to issues with moderation, but I don't understand why this can't be a server setting? For smaller servers and friends this would be nice to be able to do.

Shocked that some people are defending this as not a bug. This behavior is awful and undesirable. Make it a long press instead or get rid of it because you shouldn't be accidentally copying things ...
