IP bans -
I recently got banned from a server due to the fact I logged on to Discord, evidently on the same Wi-Fi network that someone else got banned on. I am now banned from this server due to my IP being associated with some-one else who got banned. The only solution given from Discord support is to revoke all bans, which is evidently a stupid solution on a server with 10k+ users. There should be a way to disable IP bans after xyz amount of time after the ban, or to when someone IP banned tries to join to send an appeal to a mod, which if it is approved will whitelist their account, but not the IP (this could also be another option, so the mod could deny the appeal, accept it, or revoke the ban on the IP.) Due to the fact that many IP's use the Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol, (basically IP's can change) IP's can also be inherited, and if inherited from a banned user that means this other completely innocent user is banned. And as aforementioned, if you log onto a public Wi-Fi network, use a VPN, or anywhere where you share an IP, you could be caught as collateral in the IP ban.
The solution given by Discord Support to unban every single banned user is completely inadequate, and needs looking at, since this is an issue that makes certain users unable to use Discord for its intended purpose.
