a lot of serves use a muted role which is sometimes automatically assigned to a person via a bot so instead of 1 role saying you can and a bunch of others saying you cant there should be an option unless another role says so you can do this/you cant do this for example 
role default gamer connect yes unless different role says otherwise

muted connect no 

and in this scenario the muted role takes priority and says you can not connect to this voice channel
