Suggestion for New Feature - "Sent" and "Seen" Messages on Discord.
I would like to request a new feature that I believe would be useful for all users. I suggest adding a new layer of "sent" and "seen" messages on Discord, similar to the feature already available on WhatsApp and Facebook.
This feature would enable users to easily see if their messages have been sent and received by the recipient, eliminating any confusion or miscommunication that may arise from messages being missed or not received.
I believe this addition would greatly improve the user experience on Discord and make communication more efficient and effective. If you agree with this suggestion, I encourage you to upvote the idea on feedback.discordapp.com to show your support. I hope this feature will be considered for implementation in the near future.

Can you elaborate on how this would "make communication more efficient and effective"? Discord notifies the sender or messager if their message was not sent, so there should never be a point that messages are not received. Furthermore, the only time where a message should specifically be "missed," is if the recipient deliberately ignores it, or if the recipient or Discord does not have effective notifications.
I'd like to see an actual reason to introduce this, also. None of these buzzwords, none of these "oh well it'd just be nice to know," nono... Objectively, what does it introduce that would be helpful in Discord communications, and why should anyone vote for this to be added. Keep in mind Discord's existing features; reactions and just standard text messages work well for communicating the very same thing that these do.

Hey,
I understand your point that Discord already notifies the sender if a message was not sent, which is an important feature. However, it's worth noting that while a message may have been sent, there can still be situations where the recipient may not have received it. This could be due to various reasons such as network issues, incorrect contact information, or the message simply being missed.
Just like WhatsApp and Facebook offer "sent" and "seen" layers on the messages, if "sent" it means delivered to the user and "seen" means it was seen by the user already. Sometimes people may not see the messages we sent and we do not know if they have seen and read our sent messages. The proposed "sent" and "seen" message feature would provide an additional layer of confirmation that a message has been received and read by the recipient. This would help to avoid situations where the sender may assume that their message has been received, when in fact it has not., The proposed feature is already available on other popular messaging apps like WhatsApp and Facebook and has become a standard feature for messaging platforms. It would be a great addition to Discord, especially since it already has a large user base that would benefit from this feature.
Moreover, this feature would add to the existing set of communication tools available on Discord, such as reactions and standard text messages, which work well in most cases. However, the proposed feature would provide a more robust and clearer way to confirm receipt and avoid misunderstandings.
I appreciate your feedback and hope this clarifies the benefits of the proposed feature0
