Due to sloppy publicity, I misunderstood the facts of the case with the new AI stuff. While I still think that's a waste of resources and a disturbing direction for the company, the exceedingly dangerous behavior I thought was taking place was, in fact, not.

I have been corrected on the facts of the case, so this post isn't really relevant anymore. If the initial unclarity caused the reader distress as well, the link in the reply provides some useful assurances.

  First of all they announced it on their blog before even posting about it on Twitter: https://discord.com/blog/ai-on-discord-your-place-for-ai-with-friends

  Second of all they specifically outline in the blog article that the AI will not scrape your conversations.
