Onboarding - Default Channels

Feedback: Make default channels actually default for both new and existing users.

Our staff team over the past few weeks have been dealing with dozens of users unable to find certain channels that we set as default. I had figured this would mean they're default for both new and existing users, but this is not the case. 

I thought the old turning it off and back on again would do the trick, it didn't. Tried a few other tricks and so far nothing has seemed to work. Now I'm faced with either turning Onboarding off entirely, doing away with the server questions so that the title shows Browse Channels, or creating a guide that maybe ten percent of my community will actually look at. All options here are pretty awful.
