Mobile App General Feedback

(This is a copy and paste of what I sent via support ticket, because that's where I was told to send feedback by a staff member. It's long, but it has a lot of useful info, so read it.)

So! Yall asked for some feedback regarding my criticisms on the new mobile layout (that you can thankfully disable) and so I'm here to deliver based on my own experiences.

First, you know how the normal discord layout has those three lines in the top left you can click to view all the channels on a server? Yeah, so in your new layout you got rid of that and replaced it with a back arrow. 

Not a huge deal, but the three lines brings to mind a "list" whereas a back arrow makes me think I'm closing something and going back to a main menu, which is not at all the right feeling. The server I'm in should have the channels feel connected, not wholly detached. What's *actually* horrible about this little change is that there's a significant delay between when you hit the "back" button to view all the channels compared to when you hit the three lines on the default layout. 

There's also no nice sliding animation in the new layout, which makes it feel so fucking clunky, especially when paired with that horrible delay before you can actually see all the channels.

Speaking of delays, there's *also* a delay when you actually tap a different channel, so triple that horrible clunky feeling I mentioned earlier. This shit needed another 6 months in the oven evidently, and even then nothing about it is better than the normal layout from what I can tell. 

None of the helpful features yall removed are back either, so again, I literally see zero positive changes with this. What I mean by removed features btw is that you can no longer highlight text on the mobile app and select stuff like "spoiler", where that used to be the case a long while ago. The only way to do that now (as far as I can tell) is to memorize the format of it and enter it manually. Horrible change btw, still mad about that.

Oh, and on the new layout you removed the ability to swipe left or right (and back again, that is very important!) to view the member list and the channel list easily. Fuck that. Being able to swipe a message to reply to it is not *at all* worth the loss of convenience.

Also, stop it with the fucking circles. Making everything rounded doesn't make it look "cleaner" or "simpler", whatever intern you hired that did that needs to actually sit down and look at whatever the hell they just made, because I seriously do not believe for a second they tested any of this or had actual discord users (that use the mobile app) try it out. Keep it to squares people. They work because they give clear boundaries without cluttering up everything that I'm seeing. Squares also have the benefit of not cutting off literally every single server backdrop, making them ugly as sin. There's no doubt there's a bunch of other issues using rounded edges on everything causes, so just keep it simple for now. Only make something rounded when it's a square on top of another square or something else that's ugly af. Use them *sparingly* though.

So yeah, basically what I'm saying is stop trying to reinvent the wheel. You're going to fail if you do that. I get that you might just think that people don't like it because it's new, but that isn't what's happening here. You are literally actively making the app worse as time goes on. I've already turned off auto-updates because evidently I can't trust you guys to only push an update when 1) it actually works properly, and 2) it's actually a good change. My advice is to hire a professional and only push an update out when testers (IE actual discord mobile users) give you the okay.

Alright, that's all I really have time for. Sorry for the tough love, but yall have *really* not been making good choices as of late, and after reddit made a mess of their app I just needed to vent a bit. Hopefully yall will take some of this to heart and not brush it off.
