Voice messages on mobile playback

Now that there is an officially implemented user interface for playing audio messages on mobile, can someone explain to me why on god's green earth you still can't send OGG Opus files and play them back on mobile in the same way you can for voice messages. I can't think of a single good reason not to just show the same audio playback UI instead of the useless unknown file UI that currently shows up. Please address this.
