Not a mandatory change, but an optional formatting feature that automatically combines messages from the same user into a single message.
Setting 0 would leave things unchanged.
Setting 1 would group messages by appending them under the last line of the previous message with a line break.
Setting 2 would group messages by appending them from the last character of the previous message; having a custom break insertion string field, default to and add a full stop and two spaces, if not present.
Additional options would be possible, with usage or lack thereof providing feedback.
Establishing optional formatting operations like this helps server operators and users communicate effectively, and reduces wasted empty space. One example might be those accustomed to short messaging, making chat move too quickly, in places slow mode is less desirable.
It could be a server option, user option, or preferably both; whoever desires to initialize it, the process is identical. Exceptions could be made for tagged or reply messages, or for channels, like slow mode.
