Need Confirmation on Likely Scam
I was falsely reported by another user on discord named Blake Heart who then contacted me and told me that in order to remove the report from my account I needed to contact someone named Alec Gorge. I contacted Alec Gorge under the belief that the individual was a discord administrator of some sort. Over the course of several hours I attempted to follow the steps I was told were necessary to recover my account. In following these steps I was locked out of my account via an email change. During this time the individual, "Alec Gorge" began asking for more information related to my bank account and bank information, specifically previous transactions and bank overviews. They continued requesting this information under the guise that I had committed "suspicious activity" and needed to provide financial verification of my identity. They also told me I was not allowed to speak to anybody else about this as it would infringe upon company rights. Begrudgingly I complied with these demands as my discord account was connected to much irreplaceable work and data that was too invaluable for me to lose.
This all culminated in them asking to use, first CASHAPP, then PAYPAL to send $500 to a different account gmail account from my personal account in order to "complete the process." They cited a "Digital Services Act validation from FDIC" as the reasoning behind this but upon my own research I was unable to find anything of the sort existing. I had been suspicious of the individual when they began requesting bank information of any kind as "financial proof" but finally decided to report this upon them telling me to deposit money under the guise, "it would be returned upon verification".
As of right now I have submitted at least two tickets with discord, one regarding transfer of a server that account owned that has all my work and one reporting my account to be hacked. The server transfer was denied and the account hack ticket is ongoing.
My question is, is this a scam or not? Because everything about this to me screams scam and I wasn't having any problems with my discord account not had received any notification that I had been reported before engaging with these individuals. $500 is also an obscene amount of money for a verification by federal agents and an amount I not only cannot pay but could not make up if this did turn out to be a scam. Has anyone else been in this situation and if so could you advise on what steps I need to take? I would really like to get my information secured at no financial risk.

i had this issue today, and I still haven't got my account back, the guy told me to change to this email auroymoderator+mrjohnreviews@gmail.com in order to remove the report but he said that i had to pay 500 euros for validation process and I refused it and I got kicked off of Discord

and I can't access to it and even if I try to use forget my password and using my original email, it doesn't work.

Johnnyp95 Yes, of course you lost access because you literally gave them your account.
You changed the email from your account to their email. Now they have full control over your account and can scam more people and do whatever they want.
I suggest you ask your parents or guardian for advice on how to stay safe online too.

Anyone have any luck here? Fell for the scam about three days ago while high, a trusted friend's old account was the one that infected mine so I didn't think anything of it at all. I'm trying to AT LEAST have my old account suspended while they look into the matter, but the entire thing is SO upsetting, especially since my other friend, who fell for the same scam after I warned her that my account was trying to scam her, she got hers back within THREE HOURS of making her one and only ticket via email telling her “Your account is gucci”
If anyone has had luck with it, can y'all give me the time frame between the initial ticket, “your ticket's been escalated”, and actual account recovery? I want as many responses as possible to try to determine a rough ETA for actual human intervention.

My account was hacked by this same user. I felt so dumb falling for it after a lot of pressure coming from him saying he will shut down my account

Yea I was stupid and think I got scammed by someone impersonating Savannah Badalich. I genuinely got terrified as they said I would face charges if I don't do as they said so I did it out of fear. However I did not change my email to what they wanted I did however send money which again was stupid of me but I believed them so that's on me for believing but least they won't be able to take hold of my account that way

Discord STILL hasn't done shit and I am legitimately furious that they've done NOTHING to assist me.
Over two weeks at this point. This is pathetic on Discord's end, they're basically condoning these scumbags actions by taking this long to do anything to help the victims, putting their own user-base at risk.

It’s still been several months and the scammer is still using my account to phish people in the servers I joined. I really need help to get account back. Has anyone else gotten their accounts back?

How many months, Lancer? And how long have you had your ticket open? For me it's been 53 days now, technically two months, both tickets open are escalated but I have heard NOTHING.

It’s been about four months. I’ve submitted many tickets but all I get are automated emails that aren’t helping. The guy even changed the password too. Seriously this needs to be resolved somehow

Has anyone been able to get their account back? I already have submitted several tickets and I still can’t get my account back. I keep getting automated emails and those are no help so if anyone was lucky enough to get their accounts back or something then I’d like a little advice or something.

I don't think this has been resolved because this almost happened to me about 10 min ago. they tried to get me to send them $400 to trace my purchase history to make sure I didn't scram someone and so my account and my IP didn't get perma banned.

This is extremely stressful. I seriously don’t understand how my friends got their accounts back but I haven’t.. I mean I have been waiting for so long for someone on the discord support staff to send me an email or a direct message to help me get my account back. Anyway I’m probably one of the many few that still haven’t gotten their accounts back but if you were able to get your account recovered then how did you do it?
