Can we please get no friend status that looks like DMs?

See the part above purple line? Idk what it is called so I’m saying ‘friend status bar’. On my mobile, I see it on the top and it looks like a DM (look how it lines up with my DMs) and thus every so often I see it and go ‘what? I never talked to (friend) today’. 
It is not on my iPad but it shows up on my mobile and I also panic ‘did I message the wrong person?’

Anyway. If we can just get rid of it (cause even if there was no status and it was just the icon, it would be annoying to have friend icons on top) or something that would be great

  Hey there! It sounds like having a separate status for friends, distinct from DMs, would be helpful for clarity. It's understandable how the current layout might cause confusion. Hopefully, the platform of Photo considers implementing this feature for smoother navigation. Thanks for bringing it up.
