"Radio Mode" - Voice Channel Split
Ability to temporarily or Permanently Make a Voice Channel "Radio Mode", which would allow users to create Sub-Channels (Or "Rooms") inside the original Voice Channel.
This way, Users will be able to talk privately in their Sub-Channels/Rooms, and switch to all rooms mode.
Features:
- New Channel type "Radioable"
- New Role Feature to be able to control Radioable Channels, being able to create and edit Sub-Channels, as well to be able to expand and collapse the Sub-Channels (temporarily uniting or separating Users)
- New bind to Toggle or Hold to talk in All Sub-Channels, so a user talking in a Sub-Channel can communicate to other users in other Sub-Channels without having to move anyone. Listening to all Sub-Channels at the same time has no need, but if a Game Admin is observing more then one Sub-Channel, he should be able to select which he hears in the interface.
- New Numpad Binds to select which Sub-Channel you will talk to, Numpad seems like a good default for it, or a combination, like Alt+1/2/3/4...
- New Channel Feature to have hidden Sub-Channels, so that hidden roles can be assigned during a specific game with a game master controlling the Sub-Channels and choosing which to talk to, or all at the same time.
- New User Bind or Channel Option to "Radioable" Channels to be able to listen mainly to the Main Channel Speaker ("Meeting Mode") or Mainly to their individual room ("Radio Mode") (See examples in the Benefits Section below). This can also be a "Speaker Channel", where Users here are heard by everybody in this and all Sub-Channels, and what I call "Radio Mode" is simply people using only the Sub-Channels, but this would warrant a "Speaker" Role Feature, so as to not allow anybody to join the Speaker Channel.
Benefits of this are:
- Allow Users to talk within a conversation without disrupting the main speaker, this makes for a more dynamic conversation, like it happens in real life (Example: a company is having a meeting about business changes and the marketing team can talk within themselves about what is being talked on the meeting without disrupting the speaker, nor having to wait until the speaker is done).
- Allow versus or cooperative game players to split themselves without having to physically switch rooms every time they want to talk to all other players. (2 Examples: CSGO/LOL/Ready or Not players being able to split themselves in smaller teams within the same team //// Left 4 Dead Versus/CSGO Versus Players could play a match against each other and when the game is over, one of the Users could switch the room to unite everything in the same place, temporarily colapsing the Sub-Channels without deleting them).
- Allow for a Game Master or Game Admin to manage 2 or more sets of players playing against each other (3 Examples: 2 teams are playing a professional match against each other and there is the need to have more then one admin hearing the communications, being able to switch between them //// 2 groups are playing a war game against each other and there is a Game Master managing the Sub-Rooms //// Friends are playing a game of Werewolf and there is a game master organizing the players in different rooms, but they can't see which room they are in)
I've been waiting for something like this since my friends and I usually play Versus Games or Games that could use a Radio feature so we can split our efforts and not talk on top of each other all the time. Hope you guys can add something like this, since I think besides my use, I believe there are other as useful uses.
Thanks in advance for any consideration.
