New appearance and game overlay

Not sure if this is something that has been addressed already, but I'm not sifting through everything here to find an applicable post.

The new layout sucks and is intrusive imo, the activity bar is taking up waaaaaaaay too much space now. I'm also not a fan of the appearance changes, it just… looks off. being able to switch the color and spacing is nice, but those're about the only good changes I've seen so far.

The new game overlay is obnoxious and intrusive, and I can't figure out how to get rid of all the new elements other than switching to the legacy overlay, which now doesn't even work.

I… know that developing stuff like this is a process, and I sympathize with the developers who genuinely want to make a better experience for their users. I just think that they keep changing stuff that didn't need to be changed, or at the very least they should provide the option to not change. I know I'm not alone in feeling this. I'm sure there are some very good new features that I'm not seeing, but they're buried under changes that I absolutely hate.
