New UI does not look good

The new UI rolled out for PC looks rather awful. Who decided that the best design for the interface would split inbox and help into an awkward top bar away from the other buttons and make the VC box look both too big and clunky and weirdly floating away from the corner?

Plus, the rounded square icons…not ideal. At least let us choose for that.
