+1 for TTRPG Players! This would be awesome. Can have different Nicknames which helps, but can't display Character profile pictures! Hopefully, this gains some traction, 2-year-old request kinda paints a gloomy picture though.

2 years and 4k+ requests later and still not a thing. Will it ever be a thing? Outlook isn't good at this point...

Right? I've been following this thread for a while now and I'm surprised at how many people are talking about this feature here, but Discord is completely silent about it. Honestly, I wouldn't mind some news that their infrastructure would make it an incredibly difficult task to complete, and maybe even impossible (I personally doubt that much is impossible), but the silence from Discord is becoming increasingly hard to handle.

Some of us have been forced to become a bizarre mythical catfish that don't quite fit any of our interests.

i would love this to be a feature that is added, so many D&D discord groups, and it'd be great to be able to change my pfp to a pic of my character in each.
(also it's a bit of a joke with me and my friends that i refuse to have a pfp, so i could do this and not have a pfp set, but have a pfp nickname still)5 -
Considering Discord's push to be more inclusive of all communities (not just gaming) I'm surprised this hasn't been implemented yet.
As someone who would entertain the idea of bringing a professional environment over from Slack I definitely don't need to be broadcasting those groups my goofy gamer avatars. 😅4 -

I don't know if it has been already mentioned in this 2-year-long thread, but there's a very good use case scenario for this feature. To have a disguise in NSFW servers so you don't end up in the embarrassing situation of finding a friend/coworker/etc from other server in there. So this could be used as an Incognito mode, among other uses already mentioned a dozen times by now.

I have the thread followed and almost every other day there is a new comment. Yet it's still ignored, like Discord, please! At least message here and say something about it!

I first posted here 2 years ago, asking for this feature. I just tweeted at Discord linking to this feature request.
Please, if you can, like it or retweet, or comment. I'd like to see some action on this. We've been pretty patient, waiting for Discord to respond. Time to step up the pressure!
