Be invisible on one server but online on another.

My niece is a Kindergartner who's only social outlet these days is playing Minecraft with close family members (the lack of friends her age is a whole other area of disagreement in the family.....). If I'm online, I'm being spammed by her with invites to play. Most of the time I don't mind but I would like the option to occasionally play games with my friends without her being devastated that she's being excluded.

I don’t even think they honestly review this thread...:( I don’t know of any other way to submit ideas to them, because clearly MANY of us want this feature and I wouldn’t think it should be that difficult to implement.

@duomo they do give us some things we ask for...the new reply feature they did has been asked for for years. But it is frustratingly slow between user feedback and response and there are many highly rated suggestions

What do you mean "hide game status from teacher" Like is the teacher a friend on discord? How would they be seeing your status in the first place? 0 -
I honestly would like to see this feature as well as a "Raise Hand" feature for things with lots of people in it to have some sort of option for queuing for like podcast/interviews/etc. I know the voice chat/video chat software PalTalk has had that feature for years and years. It would be nice to have it implemented along with the offline option on servers that you aren't actively wanting to appear online on.

g0thJeezus I wouldn't be so sure about that. I would love this feature but most of us have no insights in how their backend code works. It's hard to tell how hard or easy it is to add something. I work for a company as backend developer and some simple functions are the hardest to implement just due to the way some code was written in the past. Give them some time, maybe they'll get back on this. Maybe not :3

Absolutely that is true, I did notice their API is very limited with rich presence and such, as I was working on a Deezer client with rich presence but that's off topic for this thread.... Maybe some activity on this thread will make them notice people would love to have this feature or maybe we need to find alternative ways to make the devs notice as it is not unlikely that this thread has just drowned in the many other requests.

I suggest you convince your employer to use a Skype-clone such as Zoom (free for small groups afaik)

I don't get how this would be useful in any way, as I'm guessing your real status would still be shown on your profile. Plus, being in multiple servers would just rip the benefits away. -8 -
You can just go into your settings and temporarily disable push/desktop notifications for that "invisible with no notifications" part.

You can use multiple accounts at the same time if you use browser(s) along possibly the desktop client and your phone.

Uh....what? If you have friends who dm spam you when you're online and they don't stop when you ask them too then unfriend them, if you're on a server where you don't feel safe being online then leave the server.

You should stop lying then. Be honest with the people around you. I know it is hard. I am also a content creator and I get stupid remarks from people when they see I am playing a shitty video game instead of working on new content. But it's ok. Grow a spine and embrace these messages. It shows you that people care and if you can't stand it, you should stop hanging out with them.

Just always set your status as invisible so YOU can decide when you want to be online and not when your status does. You can then leave a message in a server and then they don't know if you're on your device or not because you don't change your status, they don't know if you are watching or not watching or if you left or not. YOU get to decide whether or not you have to reply to people DMing you when you're doing something important because they wouldn't know if you were actually online or not.
I repeat my earlier statement: If you don't want a server knowing you're online then why are you even on it? Doesn't sound like a very safe environment or very good friends if they expect you to participate whenever you are online. Vice versa for this "friends that spam you", then why are they your friends? Have you asked them to stop doing this? If you have and they haven't then just unfriend them.
Its funny how these are the same people who want the "message seen" feature, which basically makes this whole post null and void if discord ever makes the mistake of adding "message seen".

i'm the kind of person that is on 100 servers and i'm also the kind of person that is not going to bother by changing that on every server, so this is not the feature for me
