Polls

because many use mobile so bots are not intuitive to most mobile users

People saying there are bots or reactions kinda miss the point here I think. Having a workaround doesn't make a feature useless to add.
On the bot side, it requires something external to discord developed and managed by people outside of Discord's dev team and therefore can break at any time or break tos and other things. Plus, it requires to actually go online and look for that perfect bot that'll do what you need and some people don't really want to deal with that.
On the reaction side, I guess it work but I find it maybe a little less user friendly than a true poll made for it. You have to make sure people will only use the reactions you want and I can think of some case where it can be less practical to see if there are a lot of reactions around the ones used for polling.
For those reasons, I think that having a dedicated polling feature would be nice and a good addition.62 -
An example of how it will look.

Requiring a bot to do a small feature is stupid. I don't want to give a bot the ability to see everything I post in the server just for a poll, because I don't trust the owner of the bot.

no that is not what bots are for... discord needs to evolve to make added features not bot dependent. The appdev hours would be low for the ask of polling, but the risk of lending the feature to bots is high. discord is no longer just the gamers new TS or Vent.

You can utilize reactions as a poll as a workaround to a formal poll.

Collecting that information and structuring it to be more precise, accountable and actionable would be amazing!

Bots are unofficial and managed by a dev or team of devs. That means to keep them online, maintenanced and compatible with futher versions of Discord (Gateway) depends on the dev. If a feature/suggestion get implemented by the Discord Staff, means voting functionality is not depended on one dev anymore. Another reason would be that it can be more implemented into the Interface, like a real button instead of reactions or an interactive pie chart inside the chat and so on. 8 -
Thing with the "Just use reacts" point is; After a certain amount of reacts discord hides them (randomly it seems)
So that's not really viable for larger servers D:7 -
Would like to see this too, great idea! So many examples where it could be used

While this is already very possible through bots, I think it would look/feel better and easier to use if it was integrated with Discord. 6 -
I love this, I hope it becomes a thing.

THATS SO GOOD!!!!!! DISCORD PLEASE

This is built in on groupme, slack and others already. I'd also like to have the ability to create calendar .csv's or contact cards while I'm asking for things

yeah we need to see this in discord. 4 -
On smaller servers with only like 20 people which could be like a group of friends or coworkers its really annoying to go and find a bot and then learn how to use it so a built in feature would be amazing and time saving

Would be fantastic to see. 4 -
I'd particularly would LOVE to see polls that allow server members (maybe with specific roles) to ADD suggestions to the poll

That looks great Morozka.
Would be even better if you could choose to poll for times instead of text for raid scheduling with checkboxes of which to include so you don't have to type in every half hour time slot in a day into text boxes for example.
Also at the bottom a toggle option for duration or end time & date, so you could write for how many days/hrs/mins the poll is open if you would prefer that4 -
Things that ask for interaction with an audience work best if it means the least possible effort for them. That's why a poll solution that means one click to vote, not more, no website opening or anything, is best. Yes, you can do that with reactions, but reactions aren't anonymous which puts off a lot of people. So we really need a native poll solution.

This would be really helpful as it would prevent users from voting on two or more things... bored of people who do that.. Looking forward into it...

Polls seem like a really good idea, if you are a game developer, or artist, or someone who makes music, you can make a poll to see what people would like to see or hear. You can also use polls on big Discord servers where people can give responses to a poll about implementing something new for example.
This seems like a really good idea to me. +1

idk why this is not a feature already. most chatting apps have this. 3 -
Yes love this idea.

I want see this 3 -
This would be very useful when planning raid times for games. All the poll bots I have found do not offer either time choices or enough options (you need 24+ options; 1 for each hour of the day plus 'anytime' and 'I cant make it') which my clan always uses in Line polls to see when 50 people can log on to kill a boss together. (Can't convince clan to move apps when they are used to these features unless they are offered as functionally here, same goes for notes/albums). Also all but one bot I found misses the ability for people to comment on polls and sometimes you need to answer with option and specifics. Could be great if it also had optional reminders to vote maybe. And yeah a role option for creating polls would be handy too.

Still looking for this feature - without a bot, this is tedious and requiring a third-party extension for what many consider an essential feature gives the app an obnoxious footprint

Yes, please. 3
