"Seen at" message for DMs

I've seen various versions of this for Google Hangouts and Facebook, and I think a notification like this of some sort would really help those times when you're asking Wumpus about hanging out and you're not sure whether he hasn't seen your direct message or just doesn't want to answer... Get where I'm coming from? Just a little "Seen at blahblah" or "SoandSo saw this at blahblah" under your most recent message would suffice. I just think it's a really useful and necessary feature.

As long as a user can control whether they have read receipts or not, it's probably a good idea.
Personally I'd hate if people could see when I read something, it leads to the expectation for me to reply and can become a passive aggressive thing where "Why don't you respond quickly? I know you saw it!"
Sometimes I need to take time to reply, or want to avoid a toxic/negative situation until it has calmed down and this feature would be a massive wrench in my gears.
