Discord is lagging really badly on any server, within friends list, and within PMs.

As the title says, discord is performing extremely bad since one of the new updates in the new year.

I used to be able to run discord on my machine which has an i7-4790k CPU and a GTX 970 (yes older GPU I know) buttery smooth WITHOUT Hardware Acceleration (HA) but now it's almost IMPOSSIBLE to run it buttery smooth WITHOUT HA. Infact any program I have that can have HA runs buttery smooth without it, yet discord does not anymore? I have to sacrifice frames for games like Siege (which I don't get many, maybe in the 90-120 range), to be able to chat to others via voice or text chat. It's horrific and it needs addressing asap.

My machine is perfectly fine and I am uninterested in newer games. But this is a disgrace. Oh and before people respond saying it's just me or my machine isn't powerful enough etc etc. Here's a couple reddit posts from 16 days ago I assume to be nearer the update in which this problem occurred:

Edit: It also has nothing to do with the amount of servers I am in. Since the update all I have done is leave servers (That I don't want to be in anymore) and it still hasn't helped. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it many times and still this problem persists.

I also tried for like 30 minutes in one day to use the Discord Web Browser but it does not have features I use daily like screen sharing. Oh and the bar for the internet link is always in the way unless I full screen it, which is just not user friendly at all. This needs to be rectified asap please.
