Unbearable echo when on mobile app

Every time discord has a new update, when using the mobile app to voice chat with someone I can hear myself echo back louder than even the person on the other side of the call. This does not go away in any way- we have tried different headphones or using the speakers of our phones but it makes it absolutely impossible to hold a conversation. Also on the mobile app for iOS, discord does not let me take it off of speakers, so you either have headphones in or you announce the whole conversation to the world. After the latest updates the call works like a phone call, constantly lighting up my screen and ruining things for me.

I use an iPhone 7 Plus. I think especially the "not-being-able-to-take-it-off-speaker" problem especially, needs to be fixed ASAP.
