Toggle webcam preview flip
Though useful for webcams, discord also detects capture devices like the HD60(s) and is slightly annoying the preview for the host cannot be unflipped. It's a conscious decision to have made it that way and should be toggleable.

Classic example of Discord focusing on features no one asked for when simple stuff like this isn't completed.
For those on desktop who may be interested, you can unmirror yourself in the meantime via removing the mirror class tag using inspector.
Look for: "<canvas id="media-engine-video-"

Just stumbled upon this annoying thing. +1 from me.

WHY is this set to mirror as standard anyway? I can see the mirror command in inspector. I can temporarily remove it. WHY? At least put a friggin' button!

I don't get why they did this to begin with.

+1 This seems like a very simple feature to add.

Just to make it clear, the problem is that the image is mirrored on your client when you are streaming, but all the others will see your camera unmirrored.

I use an Elgato streaming device, and it is only registered in the video options of Discord. So now my cpu has to struggle in order to stream properly.

well i need a flipp function caus e my cam is flipped

Is anyone listening? Can we please get this added?

I found a solution for this Problem but it is a bit unhandy:
if you have an mirrored image in Discord you can use Streamlabs "Virtual Webcam" Feature
this feature will take the current scene as input which you can freely edit so you can mirror it back in Streamlabs-2 -
i know but its suboptimal cause OBS taks some gpu/cpu an if you have obs/streamlabs open ist all over^^

I also need this please

Twitch streamers want to use Discord as a way to "call in" to talkshows using OBS > NDI Webcam Input but it requires us to do all this extra work of nesting scenes in order to flip them backwards just so Discord can flip them backward again. It's ABSURD Discord has not provided a toggle for this yet. Please!

stupid (but functional) fix, use obs, set input to be "Video Capture Device", set it up for your camera, right click it, Transform > Flip Horizontal, then press the "Start Recording" button and set discord to use "OBS Virtual Camera"
(If you are already using OBS virtual camera then just do Transform > Flip Horizontal on your source)

McArdellje, that will just pass on the problem to the people looking at you. (You will appear mirrored to them)
Until they add an official checkbox, just turn off this CSS in the Dev tools (Ctrl+Shift+I):

Cookie.me.uk well
if i use my cam it its is have a mirrow immage from the cam caus she is so designet
if i use this cam on discord the pepps will see me mirrowed so i neet to use a vcam like obs to flipp it
but if can flipp dc it self so you have not 3rd party program beetwen cam an dc and the input lag or the delays beetwen vid and voice are minimized
PS.: and you css remove will only show by your self not by other peps-1 -
"PS.: and you css remove will only show by your self not by other peps"
DISCORD DOES NOT MIRROR YOUR WEBCAM FOR OTHER PEOPLE.
THE MIRRORING IS DONE LOCALLY
!

Cookie.me.uk yes, but if you screengrab the discord chat for a live stream, it's quite inconvenient that your image is mirrored. That's one of the reasons many streamers use zoom rather then discord when intending to stream the actual call screen. Screengrabbing a browser is no good in this constellation either. This is a nice workaround, that could even be done automatically via tampermonkey, but it's still a kind of hack.

That would be EXTREMELY useful. It's getting REALLY annoying to see my own stuff flipped in our RPG sessions.
