Where did :trans: go? Plus 12.2 versus 12.1.3.
You guys updated to Twemoji 12.1.3, but I still don't see the trans flag emote (shortcoded as :trans:)? Not seeing anything else missing, but this should've been in the update.
BTW, 12.2 is also available. Dunno why you'd choose 12.1.3 over 12.2.

The trans flag is coming with Emoji 13.0. While it's already in Twemoji I don't think they actually use the library cause then it wouldn't have taken them 3 years to update it and gender neutral emoji wouldn't be broken.

If you're referring to the Transgender Flag emoji, 🏳️⚧️, that is not part of Twemoji 12.1.3.
In fact, it's not even a part of Unicode yet; it's a draft candidate for Unicode 13.0.

@LeaPhant: Discord uses Twemoji. The fact that they were using an outdated version of it and never updated doesn't mean that they weren't using it at all. I'm not sure what you mean by gender-neutral emojis being broken, but assets for those were updated with Twemoji 12.1.4.

Ah, my mistake, you're right. Twemoji did add it with https://github.com/twitter/twemoji/pull/337, but as it's still a draft emoji candidate, it's not yet part of Unicode and subject to change or removal. It was just an atypical addition to celebrate Pride month.

It's still functional on Twitter. And though it might be removed before 13.0 comes out, I'd say it's still worth it to have it. Most of the LGBTQ+ oriented servers I've been in have it or some variation of it, but there really shouldn't be a need to waste emoji slots on things that were supposed to come with the update.
That said, I really think they're using an altered version of Twemoji and not the actual library, and could have possibly left out :trans: (and the Transgender Symbol emote by extension, but I hadn't realized that too was gone by the time I wrote my original post) on purpose, and not just because they were possibly temporary.
An official response would be awesome, because it really sucks thinking about that last thing.4 -
I checked the code and it looks like they already have assets uploaded for the trans symbol and trans flag, they're just not included as available emoji for some reason.
I agree that Discord should go ahead and implement it. Unicode draft candidates usually don't get revoked, and I think the userbase would appreciate it.
