I can't drag and drop files for upload from the recent files in quick access on windows
Hi!
I'm on windows, using the desktop application. In any normal folder with the file explorer I can drag and drop any file for upload just fine, but it doesn't work if I drag a recent file from the quick access menu in file explorer, for some reason.
If I want to share an audio file I just exported, I then have to find the folder directory to be able to drag and drop it to chat. This is not a huge problem, but I don't get why I'm not able to do it. Are the files in quick access any different from any other file?
Regards,
Nikolai

Try disabling administrator privilege if youre still having this issue

You mean Administrator privileges in discord or in Windows 10? It's happening for every server I'm in, I'm not turning off my administrator privileges for Windows 10. I see people from 2016 that have been having this problem with Discord, they should fix it after 4 years.

It's not Discord that changed anything, but Windows 10 did.
You do actually have to run Discord as an Admin to get overlay to work when streaming some games, so disabling admin privileges for Discord is not the answer.
The problem is that Discord disabled Drag-and-Drop into 3rd party Apps several years ago.
You can reactivate Draging-and-Dropping into 3rd Party apps by making a System Registry Change
Always back-up your current registry before making any changes!
1) Open RegEdit
2) go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System
3) Set EnableLUA value to 0
4) restart pc
