I don’t understand why Discord doesn’t have a built-in LFG feature, similar to what is found on Xbox Live and PSN. It’s a simple feature that can benefit a lot of gamers out there. Please add.
The closest thing we have to LFG on PC right now, is checking if a game has a Discord server, and if it does we must join it and hope it has an LFG channel, then we receive messages, assuming other players were bothered to do this, then leave the server once we’re done.
Well there’s also Xbox Live LFG on Windows 10 but it only works with selected games and I doubt 90% of gamers even know it exists. Discord has the publicity and convenience.
The current LFG procedure is so overly complicated and long when we could just click ‘Create New Post’, choose ANY verified game, choose the number of players, set tags and description, wait for other players to send applications, and when accepted, adds them to a group chat.
Please add a convenient universal LFG feature (pssst, just copy the Xbox Live one ;). I know a few people that wouldn’t even bother doing the first step in joining a game’s Discord server for the sake of LFG. And I’m sure they’re not the only ones.
Destiny 2 is a great example.
Like a lot of people, I played Destiny 2 on Xbox One pre-Shadowkeep. I could create a LFG post and receive ~5 applications within a minute.
Post-Shadowkeep, I moved to Steam. Joined the Destiny LFG Discord, even used the Destiny 2 app. I could create several LFG applications and within 30 minutes, only receive one application. Now imagine games with a lower player population. It’s so difficult to LFG that you might as well just queue with what you’ve got.
