The most recent UI update has been nothing but a nightmare. I have never had a program cause motion sickness before until now. With my ADHD it can be hard for me to process a lot of stuff on one page if it's too busy. The new design fits that bill perfectly which is unfortunate. Not only is it difficult to pay attention and read over everything going on, it is causing headaches and motion sickness with all the newly added movement in the app. Having the text box compress and expand because of the image and camera buttons every single time you start typing a new message is really hard to look at. The motion of the text box collapsing after sending a message is also hard to look at. The amount of motion from swiping between the new tablike layout causes eye strain which leads to headaches. Why is there suddenly a bar at the bottom of the screen overlapping some of the different chat and server bubbles? These features were already easy to access in the previous design and didn't need to be moved. There is too much going on now! I have been using Discord for years now and it has reached a point where staff are not taking into consideration what their community is telling them which is really unfortunate. This used to be an app that was clearly cared about and wanted to stand out for being its own thing. Now it feels like it is just trying to look like any other messaging app which have never accommodated people with disabilities or did very little to do so. There have been multiple updates now that have just been for the sake of cosmetics that a large part of the community has not responded well to. Listen to your users before you end up being another forgotten burned out app of the past.
