UIX Improvement: Pin desired channels to the top of the server list for a given channel

While trying to figure how to best handle coming up with the easiest way to quickly return where I left off for each conversation spread out among channels and servers, it occurred to me maybe it would be easy to enable:

Pinning/duplicating selected channels in a given server to the top of the server's channel list. Or the ability to drag selected channel, or channel groups, to set a preferred order. 

Unless there's an API to develop this kind of thing?
