Nitro downgrade (cancellation of an upgrade)

I was in the middle of using credit for classic, and I wanted to use my Nitro (premium will be capitalized) credit that was just sitting there buried under months of classic credit. In an attempt to activate it, I upgraded my "subscription" (all claimed gifts) and was charged around $3. I had done this successfully before without putting in a credit card, but this time I did, and I realized that I was actually being charged to upgrade from classic to Nitro, and my Nitro credit was not being activated. When I requested a refund, I received the refund (so I'm net 0 in money at this point) but I also LOST THREE WEEKS OF NITRO CLASSIC in the process because downgrades aren't a thing. I can think of some loopholes as to why it has not been a thing, but it would not take revolutionary thinking to close them.

TLDR: Make Nitro downgrades (back to classic) possible so people like me don't lose nitro value.

Yes, also, if you disable Nitro upgraded accounts by demanding phone 'verification' without ever having received a phone number to verify, then sending those accounts into a 'wait your timeout' loop. Please reimburse the nitro payment to the used credit card... Because having people pay for a service upgrade, then taking the entirety of their service away might be considered fraud, right?
