Nitro and NFTs

While I have never bought Nitro myself for personal financial reasons, I will now continue to hold off on that decision along wit recommending others not to get Nitro (who I know have bought it in the past or currently) due to your recent decision regarding cryptocurrency and NFTs. First of all, you sent out a survey regarding the integration of NFTs to Discord, but only in crypto/NFT servers. That is a terrible way to take a survey in regards to a new feature for you platform. In at least one example I saw of the survey, questions only had the options for not knowing what an NFT was or already being favourable towards them/having bought them. This is terrible survey making as it doesn’t allow for input for those, such as myself, who are against crypto and NFTs.

This leads me to my second point, that not every Discord user supports crypto and NFTs. NFTs in particular have done great damage to artist communities in terms of plagiarism, something NFTs claim to mitigate, you’re only paying for the receipt for an image rather than the image itself (which is an asinine concept in a number of ways), and the things take the power of a small country to maintain on the blockchain, which has already failed its job i regards to the aforementioned plagiarism. Similar criticisms apply to crypto as a whole, primary the environmental impact. I’d rather not have me or my friends pay money to a service that burns the planet and wastes computer parts for fake money or an ugly jpeg.
