Integrate NFTs or Cryptocurrency, and I will be cancelling my Nitro effective immediately

Hello! I'm aware this is not the first post in here about this topic, but here I am making one as well.

Discord, it seems you're interested in adding some sort of NFT or cryptocurrency thing.

Wow! Helping your userbase by assisting in the destruction of the planet we inhabit, and only one we have TO inhabit, what a great PR move! (if unclear - that was sarcastic)

It shouldn't be any sort of surprise that a large majority of Discord's userbase is against this concept, given... You know, everything going on in this area of feedback.

Even just a few minutes of research (If you're really so desperate for a source, here ya go) should tell you why NFTs are bad (here's a big one: Large amounts of carbon emissions that will speed-up climate change which could ultimately destroy the Earth if we do not do something to stop it. ...Also there's a lot of scams, just look at this Twitter account. But I think the literal planet itself is a bit more important.)

So I, along with many others who use Discord, do not wish to support a company that agrees with or supports speeding up the destruction of the planet for some fake crypto-money.

I have Nitro for a few reasons, but here's the thing.

You do this? You confirm this is really the direction you wanna go in? I'm cancelling my Nitro subscription. Many others have already done so.

I have now cancelled my Nitro, and do not have any intent to re-subscribe until this idea is dropped completely.

Also, if you really do go through with this, well... I'm not above going back to something like Skype.

It may be much more of a mess than Discord, but hey. I'd take it over this NFT garbage any day!

So, here's the deal, Discord.

Either drop this ridiculous idea ASAP, or you'll be losing a large portion of your userbase.

Is that really a risk you feel like taking?
