A VR overlay (but actually viable)
Okay so this would be something exclusive to steam VR for the time being, given that it’s the only platform that would allow this, but I propose a type of, “watch” that goes on your left hand, that you can mute and unmute on, as well as deafen. You could see notifications on the left forearm, and if you press some kind of (maybe in the shape of discord’s logo) button, you can open a small rectangular tablet-like interface that behaves like the desktop mode for discord, allowing you to screen share and all that good stuff.
There is already a program called “LIV” on steam VR that is already an overlay, and if you look under “experimental” in the PCVR oculus settings, you can see a watch that you can turn on that behaves similarly.
Currently, it’s a giant pain to take off the headset and controllers and type on the keyboard, or take off the headset and type, but bash you controllers against your desk, it’s just all and all not a good time, and if you (discord) manages to pull this off, it’ll be ground-breaking, since you’re the first big company to do this, and it’d be laying a path for the future to come.
