I guess I'm also assuming that being registered as a conversation, even a muted one that doesn't push any notifications, would still result in every single channel, showing up in the master convers...

to add on to this, give us the ability to pop out a specific channel into aconversation bubble on demand! This would be completely game changing to the Pokemon Go community.

Likewise, sometimes you're trying to find a message that was spoilered and being able to search for only messages that contain spoilers would be useful!
