Custom Sticker Requirements
Custom stickers are available through Boosting your server. Once boosted, server admins and owners can upload custom stickers under Server Settings > Stickers.
For the best looking stickers, you'll need to follow these requirements:
- Animated File types: APNG
- Static File type: PNG
- Max File size: 512KB
- Dimensions: 320px x 320px (exact)
- Matching Unicode Emoji for Sticker Suggestions
- [Optional] Description text so people who use screen readers can understand what a sticker looks like.
Things to Keep in Mind
In addition to the requirements listed above, we recommend considering the following items when creating your custom sticker creations.
Transparency
Due to their uniqueness, stickers are often created with transparent backgrounds. This can be achieved through a few different methods depending on what you’re using to create stickers:
Transparent background (left), Solid background (right)
- Make sure your background layer is transparent when saving the image.
- Cutting the background out with a photo editing tool
Sizing your custom stickers
When creating stickers, make sure that your sticker takes up as much canvas space as possible for the best results.
Stickers in the desktop chat will render at 160x160 dp, which is why we recommend uploading stickers as 320x320 px exactly. This scaling helps keep your stickers looking crisp on most displays.
Note: Keep in mind that depending on what device you're using, and depending on where stickers are displayed (in the sticker drawer, in chat, etc), the sticker may display at different sizes.
Note:
- Your APNG stickers will not render if you only upload the files through the chat bar > upload file section!
- You’ll need to preview the stickers instead in the Server Settings > Stickers > Upload window.
