New usernames worsen issues they claim to solve, removes a Nitro selling point

There's been a massive outcry against the new username system, and for a laundry list of good reasons. But I think there's a few huge ones you should consider: It worsens the ease of remembering usernames, as instead of having a clear and case sensitive username that can have multiple duplicates without issue, with an equally clear identifier number, we now have a system where users have to put in random dashes, letter, numbers, or symbols themselves with absolutely no rhyme or reason, making it FAR harder to remember, and also harder to write down on paper if you're worried about sharing these usernames in person. Personally, my Discord handle is the ONLY username I can ever remember if I don't get lucky on other websites and get EXACTLY what I wanted. Because that's not an issue on Discord. I just pick exactly what I want, all I have to remember is a mere four digits after. This change will make the number of accepted friend requests WORSE, because spam accounts will buy up popular usernames to try to scam people, and legitimate accounts will LOOK like spam accounts because of all the random symbols we'll be forced to put in our names. The new username system removes a major perk of Nitro: picking your own custom numbers. If someone really wants a specific set of numbers to go with their username? Just get Nitro. Simple as. Removing this will not only make a LOT of people cancel Nitro simply from being absolutely livid over this rash decision Discord is making (and rightly so), but many will cancel simply because their incentive for doing so is suddenly gone. Discriminator tags are not only iconic to Discord's identity as a platform, but also a key factor of its success due to the incredible ease of account creation it allows for. If it's that big of an issue to you, simply allow for a user search feature that doesn't require the discriminator numbers (though this is probably a bad idea that will worsen bot issues almost as much as the new username system). If you continue to try to homogenize Discord with other sites, even though Discord is NOT a social media site, then what will distinguish you from them? What makes you more worthwhile than them? This change is one that your entire community is against, and if you lose them, what will you have left?
