Latency meter for voice chat is broken

My ping for my connection quality constantly shows latency over 700 MILLION milliseconds.  Sometimes it will fix itself and go back down to 40-20ms but then shoots back up to over 700 million.  Pretty consistent over the last couple of months. Pretty sure the number is fake as that would almost take 8 days for a round trip.
